The quick acting closure (19) which operates the closure plug (5) has a lever (12) which lifts up when the container (1) is opened. The closure plug has a seal (6) in the form of a cylindrical body with peripheral groove (7) and sealing off the pressure-equalising opening (2) when the quick acting closure is in a closed position. The closure plug is fixed to the lever so that when the closure moves from a closed to an open position, the seal is removed from the pressure equalising opening by the lever being raised. The top of the groove has two sealing lips (8,9).
