Progressive multi-station stamping and/or forming tool, having two parts (2a,4a) movable relatively towards each other pref. vertically to a first working plane (E1), with pref. the lower part (2a) carrying a work station (12) for joining two sections of the component or for joining the component with a second part, with the working plane (E2) of the work station (12) being offset transversely to the tool working plane (E1) and the work station (12) connected to and actuated by the tool part (4a) via a connection located away from the transfer direction.
