Damping element for reducing noise and heat transfer between building components

Damping member(14) is used for preventing noise transmission between connected components and for temp. insulation between these components comprises a body(18) with connecting faces (22,23) on opposite sides adjoining the two components. The body(18) is made from a polymer with fillers which resists compressive forces at the connecting surfaces (22,23) and has a heat conductivity of <= 0.8W/(m*K). Reinforcement (26) passing through the body(18) protrudes beyond the connecting faces (22,23) and has anchoring points (28) extending into the adjoining components to transfer tensile loading between them.
