The printed circuit board device comprises a planar PCB having a printed circuit pattern on one side for the surface mounting of an electrical component, and a printed circuit on the opposite side, both printed circuits being electrically interconnected. The PCB has a number of holes disposed in the opposite side, which are of a depth less than the thickness of the planar PCB. Each hole is at the distal end of a lead of the printed circuit. An elongated, electrically-conductive adaptor pin is disposed in each hole in the circuit board, and each pin has an enlarged portion adjacent one thereof for effecting an interference fit in the hole in the circuit board. An enlarged cross-sectional solder portion is formed between the enlarged portion and the other end, and limits the extent of penetration of the pin into the hole of the PCB, and the pin is electrically connected by soldering to the distal end of a lead at the enlarged cross-sectional solder portion.
