The circuit and method controls the volume of TV, VTR and gramophone automatically not to interfere conversation when calling. The circuit includes a) voltage change detector(5) to detect change of voltage between L1(3) and L2(4) of telephone line, b) micom(6) to control the volume control circuit and volume display circuit according to the input of the detector, c) volume control circuit(8) to control the volume gain of voice output circuit, d) voice output circuit amplifying the low frequency to drive speaker. The method comprise steps; a) decision of calling(60) which decides the calling on the power-on mode; b) memorizing of volume 1(30) which memorize the volume 1 preset by user, c) outputting(80) and displaying(90) of the volume controlled , d) setting of volume 2(100) which memorize the volume 2 by other user during calling, and e) outputting(150) and displaying(160) of the volume 2 when the volume is reset at the st of setting of volume 2.
