A diaphragm shutter makes it possible to produce a photo with a uniform exposure time and improved exposure distribution in each region of a light path even if the overall exposure time is very short. The shutter has two rotating electromagnets and two diaphragm blades (diaphragm vanes) which are driven in a manner rotated by these electromagnets. One diaphragm blade is used for opening the light path as a function of the actuation of the corresponding electromagnet. The other diaphragm blade serves to close the light path as a function of the actuation of the corresponding electromagnet. The two diaphragm blades traverse the light path in the same direction as a function of the actuation of the corresponding electromagnet.
