摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the efficient endothermic reactor that is compact, lightweight and inexpensive by enclosing a reaction tube with a furnace vessel and conducting the combustion heat from a burner along the outside of the reaction tube. CONSTITUTION:A reaction catalyst 18 is packed only in the inner annular space 9 of the reaction tube 2, an outer annular space 8 is used as the passage for raw gas, and a burner 3 is set at the upper end of the reaction tube 2. The combustion gas from the burner 3 is passed as shown in the figure. Meanwhile, the raw gas is introduced 11 into the space 8, sent downward, reversed under a partition cylinder 4 and sent upward through the reaction catalyst 18 in the space 9. Under these conditions, since only the space 9 is packed with the catalyst 18, the heat necessary for the reforming reaction is mainly supplied by the radiant heat from the combustion gas by the burner 3. Consequently, the heat flux is enhanced, the heating area is reduced, and the reactor is miniaturized and lightened.
