A steam generator comprises an internal boiler 1 formed with a fire-box 2 and vertical nest of smoke tubes 4, and a superheater 7 spaced above the boiler 1 also traversed by smoke tubes 8. The steam spaces of boiler 1 and superheater 7 are interconnected by pipe 12, and steam leaves the superheater through pipe 14. The boiler and superheater form a unit surrounded by a double-walled detachable bell-shaped container 16 acting as a feed water heater. Water is supplied through inlet 25 to the container which communicates with the boiler 1 through pipe 22. Combustion gases pass out to atmosphere through free space 19 and aperture 21. The unit may be mounted on wheels.</p> |
