A volume fade up/down method in a voice signal volume changing system in which the voice signal outputting level is variable according to a control signal from a microcomputer(30) recognizing an up/down key input signal is disclosed. In case that a mute key signal is inputted during the changed voice signal output level and a voice signal output volume are provided, the level of the voice signal output is down to "0". In case that the fade mute is inputted once again, the zero level of the voice signal output is back to the original level before the mute key signal is not inputted. Wherein, the output level is increased by stages. Thereby, an abrupt high level of a voice signal can not be provided.
