<p>A system for repeated coding and decoding of digital video signals, whereby the problems of picture quality degradation caused by repeated intra-coding of frames are avoided. The present system ensures that repeated coding/decoding of frames using intra-coding processes, always uses the same frames as the non-interpolated frames, so that at each generation, a significant amount of the original information is present, and not repetitively approximated as in current systems. The invention lies in adding code signals to the decoded video signal, said code signals containing the information on which frames were not interpolated in previous codings, so that on coding said signal again, the same coding will be used and therefore far less information will be lost.</p> |
