Calcium phosphate cement which can be used as biomaterial. A calcium phosphate cement has been invented which can be used as biomaterial. The essential active ingredient is Ca2NaK(PO4)2. A second active ingredient can be both phosphoric acid and a primary salt of a phosphate of Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and/or Zn2+. In order to improve its properties, other ingredients are added such as non- reactive carbonates, sulphates and/or phosphates of Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and/or Zn2+. A special characteristic of this cement in dental applications is that it promotes the sealing of the dentinal tubules when precipitation of the calcium phosphates inside them is induced.
