The apparatus consists of a temperature controlled treatment space, a substrate transport, a humidity supply, means to determine the b.pt. of water in the environment and a control system to regulate the temperature dependent on the b.pt. Also claimed is the fixation of substrate in the apparatus described above where the substrate is placed in an environment with elevated temperature and controlled humidity. The b.pt. of water at that pressure is determined and the humidity content of the substrate is controlled by adjustment of the temperature. Also claimed is the fixation of dried substrates and its use, where the substrate, in particular a fibre substrate, has been coated by a screen printing technique, in particular rotating screen printing.
