PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reversible thermal recording material excellent in the preservability of an image and not generating the deterioration of an image even if a color is repeatedly developed and erased by providing a surface resin coating cured layer on a thermal recording layer containing an aromatic compd. having a specific number of carbon atoms as a coupler as an overcoat layer. SOLUTION: A reversible thermal recording material used in a magnetic card has a sheet like support and a thermal recording layer containing a dye precursor and a coupler. In this case, an aromatic compd. having a sulfonyl thioura group represented by formula (wherein X is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom) and a 11 or more C straight chain alkyl group in one molecule thereof is added to the coupler. A surface resin coating cured layer containing an unsaturated org. compd. cured by the irradiation with electron beam as a main component is provided on the thermal recording layer as an overcoat layer and an intermediate layer containing a water soluble polymeric substance is provided between the thermal recording layer and the overcoat layer.
