PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device with which the utilization of the crystallization heat of a fixing roller is made possible at the time of maintaining the fixing roller at a fixable temp. after the user's remedy for a paper jam or lack of toners in case the paper jam or lack of the toner arises. SOLUTION: This image forming device has a panel opening prohibition means (panel opening prohibition section 11) which controls the opening and closing of a main body panel, amorphatizing means (heating circuit 3 and cooling circuit 4) for causing the phase transition of a phase transition layer to the amorphous phase, detecting means (jam detecting circuit 5 and toner exchange detecting circuit 6) which output a detection signal when the means detect at least one of the paper jam and the lack of the toner and control means (interface circuit 8, CPU 9, ROM 10) which prohibit the opening of the main body panel by the panel opening prohibition means upon receipt of the detection signal from the detecting means, make the display corresponding to detection signal after the phase transition of the phase transition layer to the amorphous phase and release the opening prohibition of the main body panel by the panel opening prohibition means. |
