PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device for executing proper pretransfer erasure. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with a rotationally driven photoreceptor 1, an electrifying charger 3 which unifomtly electrifies the photoreceptor 1 and is capable of switching a grid potential, an exposure means for exposing the surface of the photoreceptor uniformly electrified by the electrifying charger 3, to form an electrostatic latent image based on image data, a developing unit 5 for sticking a developer to the electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor, to turn the electrostatic latent image into a visible image, a pretransfer eraser 17 for irradiating the surface of the photoreceptor 1 to which the developer is stuck by the developing unit 5, to remove an electrostatic charge and a control part 103 for setting the grid potential of the electrifying charger 3 and switching an irradiation quantity by the pretransfer eraser 17, in accordance with the set grid potential. |
