PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing method for a coordinate input device hardly affected by a noise or the like and having excellent responsiveness. SOLUTION: Optional coordinate data di collected at optional timing are collected (S1). Then a moving distanceΔLi between the data di and coodinate data di-1 collected immediately before the data di is found out (S2). Then a parameter coefficient P for determining the ratio of the data di to coodinate data di-1' outputted immediately before the data di is found out from the moving distanceΔLi and the rate of a noise component included in the moving distanceΔLi (S3). Then the data di and the data di-1' are respectively multiplied by the ratio determined by the parameter coefficient P and the multiplied results are mutually added to find out coordinate data di' (S4) and the data di' are outputted as the coodinate data of a depression point (S5).
