PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a negative active material layer holder which has a high energy density and a large charge/discharge capacity and whose cycle life has battery characteristics. SOLUTION: This negative active material holder, represented by the composition formula Li3-x-y Mx N, is manufactured through the process of forming a precursor represented by the composition formula Li3-x Mx N and the process of forming the negative active material holder by desorbing lithium ions from the precursor. The precursor represented by Li3-x Mx N is formed by using Li metal or Li3 N and a transition metal or a transition metal nitride as starting materials, and baking them in a nitrogen gas or a nitrogen-hydrogen mixed gas atmosphere in a temperature range of 500 to 800 deg.C. Also, the negative active material holder is formed using chemical reactions or electrochemical reactions in a method for desorbing lithium ions from the precursor. In the above composition formula, M represents an element belonging to transition metals, (x) is in the range 0.1 to 0.5, and (y) in the range 0.8 to 0.9. |
