PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller capable of controlling rotational position with higher resolution and accuracy over a wide speed range. SOLUTION: The title motor controller includes a rotation detector 2 that outputs a first signal and a second signal, different in phase from each other, according to the rotational position of a motor 1; and a position detector 52 containing an interpolation circuit 4 that detects rotational positions finer than one cycle of the first and second signals. A rotational position signal output from the position detector 52 is compared with a reference position signal indicating the target position of the motor 1. Then a feedback is made so that the positional error will be minimized, and the rotational position of the motor 1 is thereby controlled. |
