PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a good image on a recording medium such as an OHP sheet, in a recording medium wherein an ink receiving layer is provided on at least the single surface of a base material, by adding a polymer complex wherein a mixing ratio of a basis polymer and a styrene/(meth) acrylic polymer is specified to the ink receiving layer. SOLUTION: In a recording medium 1 suitable for ink jet recording, an ink receiving layer is provided on at least the single surface of a base material 1. The ink receiving layer contains a polymer complex of a basis polymer and a styrene/(meth)acrylic acid polymer and a mixing ratio of them is about 10:4-6. At a time of recording, liquid droplets of a compsn. of ink containing at least a color former, a thermoplastic resin and water are emitted to the recording medium to be bonded thereto and the recording medium 1 having the ink liquid droplets bonded thereto is heated to form an image.
