<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the short circuit between a trigger wire attached to the end of a sealing part and a base by providing an insulating member to retain the sealing part on anode side set in the base, on the light emitter side of the conductive base. SOLUTION: A cathode 2 and an anode 3 are counterposed within a light emitter 1 made of quartz glass, and sealing parts 4a and 4b are provided on both its ends. One end of the trigger wire 7 consisting of iron chromium wire is wired to the external lead wire 6 connected through a metallic foil 5a to this cathode 2, and the other end is wound on the sealing part 4b on anode side. On the other side, the anode 3 is connected to the conductive base 8 through the metallic foil 5b and the external lead wire (not shown in the figure) connected to this. This base 8 is fixed to the end of the sealing part 4b on anode side, and it is provided with a projection 81 for connection of a power supply terminal. In the above short arc type discharge lamp, an insulating member 9 to retain the sealing part 5b on anode side is provided on the light emitter side of this base 8, and the distance between the winding part of a trigger wire 7 and the base 8 is taken enough.</p> |
