PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the scale of a hardware by reducing the operation scale of motion detection in a video camera system for a monitor system, etc. SOLUTION: The output of a video camera 1 is sent to a data processor 2. At the data processor 2, an evaluated value calculation block 16 extracts a video signal for each prescribed area and further calculates the evaluated value of an image for each area. Besides, a microcomputer 17 calculates a standard value based on the evaluated value in a normal state, stores the standard value, compares this standard value with the current evaluated value later and detects the motion of the image. Further, the position of the video camera 1 is controlled so that the motion detected area can be positioned at the central part of the view of the video camera 1. |
