The pipe coupler is adapted to dispose a packing between metal pipes to be coupled and then to couple the coupled portions of the pipes by means of a clamp. The pipe coupler includes: divergent expanded pipe portions(11,11') formed on the ends of the coupled pipes(10,10'), each expanded pipe portions being expanded by a predetermined angle; the packing(20) disposed between the expanded pipe portions and comprised of an inclined surface(21) which is contacted with the inner peripheral of the expanded pipe portions(11,11') and an end protrusion(22) into which the ends of the expanded pipe portions are inserted; a reentrant portion(32) into which the packing(20) and the expanded pipe portions(11,11') are received; and the clamp(30) for coupling the pipes(10,10') to each other.
