The handpiece nozzle comprises a handle, with an input end (25) for connection to a laser radiation source. The laser radiation is applied to the work area by the output end tip, after passing through a passage (31) from the input. The through passage has a principal axis (32) to the output end (33), which forms an open channel. This output external diameter is suitable for insertion in a patient's mouth. The output end tip may have length sufficient to reach the tonsils or other treatment areas. This output tip may be partly cut away, leaving a conical section for resting against the mouth. The input section (2) may include optical devices to focus (23) the laser. The centre section (3) may have suction (35) and gas (34) connections. |
