The invention relates to an apparatus for the continual application of cut pieces of a strip to a continuous material web. The apparatus includes a station drum provided with a plurality of sealing devices. Via transport rollers, where the cutting of the strip also takes place, the strip pieces are transported to the sealing devices. The continuous material web is passing the sealing devices and the strip pieces are sealed to the material web. The material web is kept in register by means of a register maintenance device.
