Coaxial cable for conduit robot with high bending fatigue strength

The cable has an inner conductor (1) enclosed by an inner insulating mantle (2) and an outer conductor (3) enclosed by an outer insulating mantle (4). The inner conductor has a non-conductive core (7) of a material with a high resistance to bending, enclosed by an electrical conductor (8), wound around the core with intermediate gaps between the windings. Pref. the core is made of plastics fibres e.g 'Kevlar' (RTM) fibres, with control wires (5) wound around the outside of the outer insulating mantle, enclosed by a tension-resistant sheath (6).
