A filter housing for use in connection with a sampling system for taking gas samples from a hot dust-filled gas flow, wherein the filter housing comprises an inlet opening and an outlet opening for a divisional flow of gas. In the filter housing means are provided for the securing of filter material whereby this filter material in a dust-proof manner delimits a first area between the inlet and outlet openings relative to a second area from which second area a gas flow may be sampled for further analysis in analysis equipment intended therefor via at least one opening in the filter housing. In the filter housing means are provided that resiliently secure the filter material against an opposite surface in the filter housing, said means being capable of absorbing differences in the thermal expansion of the filter housing and the filter element arising as a consequence of the use of different materials, since these resilient means are in dust-proof abutment on the filter material. In the filter housing an opening is provided which, in an operative state of the sampling system, is closed by a lid, wherein the opening has such dimensions that it is possible to remove the filter from the housing via said opening.
