The receiver has a receiver device for frequency modulated multiplex radio signals, multiplexed with programme and control data. A data demodulator demodulates the programme and control data in the received signal. A memory stores at least the control data in list form, with a programme code identifying a defined programme to be transmitted and a set of frequencies which will carry the identified programme. A voltage supply device provides electrical power to all receiver components. A controller controls the memory in such a way that the data stored in it is refreshed in accordance with an electric field surrounding the receiver.
