The balancer has one or more sensors (22,24) to detect the rotary position and speed of the rotary body (30) to be balanced. It also has a fastening device for the sensors to set the sensor position relative to the spatially fixed axis of rotation (A) of the rotary body. The fastening device is a separate, exchangeable sensor holder (10) which is mounted to be adjustable relative to the axis of rotation. The sensor holder preferably carries the two sensors which are the same radial distance from a virtual axis of rotation and which are staggered relative to each other in the circumferential direction. An adjustment device may be provided to pre-adjust and set the relative positions of the sensors.
