The system has a seat bed (3) mounted in the machine base and movable in the longitudinal X-direction. The bed has a split and pivoting magnetic retaining ring (11). The seat bed houses a clamping unit (7) which can be clamped, raised, moved and positioned in the X and Y directions (17,18) using magnetic forces. The clamping unit consists of a baseplate (8), clamp plate (10) and a support ring (9) located between the baseplate and clamp plate.
