The locking device can be pushed to the left and right up to a stop in the housing. The device can release a window leaf to the right or left of the housing. The lock can be fixed in the middle of the housing and has a longitudinal groove. An engaging member which is a ball pin is positioned in the housing and grips into the groove, and arrests on the axial border of the groove by pushing the lock. There are inserting apertures in the housing for screws for fixing the housing to the window or door frame, especially between two window leaves.
