Automatic winder for automatically driven clocks and watches

A winder for automatic clocks and watches ensures that they are kept in service. A housing base (1) supports an electric motor (2), connected to the mains and a transformer (3,4), and a rotating wheel (6) carried on edge by two rollers (7,8) one of which (8) acts as a friction drive. This is operated by a worm (10) from the motor. Foam pads (12) are mounted in holes (11) cut in the rotating wheel and on these the watches (13) are fixed when required. The vertical turning of the wheel thus rotates the watches on an even plane, activating their eccentrics which wind them up. The watches are easily interchanged. The system also maintains other time-mechanisms, e.g. days of the week, phases of the moon, etc. Alternative methods of holding the clocks or watches and of driving the wheel are possible.
