FIELD: military equipment; projectiles with rocket engines (jet and active-jet) and safety measures to be taken in handling them. SUBSTANCE: an opening nozzle cover retainer is introduced in the projectile, having a jet engine with a cowling and bottom, and a reduced-strength coupling of the cowling to the bottom is provided. The opening nozzle cover retainer may be made in the form of segments of a U-shaped ring furnished with spaced apart shoulders embracing the nozzle cover and the annular flange on the projectile and installed with formation of a cavity between the inner surface of the segments and the outer surface of the projectile communicating with the environment. Besides, the opening nozzle cover retainer may be made in the form of lugs on the blades of the tailplane engageable with the nozzle cover in the folded position of the blades. EFFECT: enhanced safety of jet projectile when it is in the flame area due to opening of the coupling of the cowling and bottom of accidentally actuated rocket engine and reduction of projectile scattering area. |
