APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ZINC OXIDE

FIELD: production of zinc oxide from metal zinc used in rubber and paint-and-varnish industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has metal zinc melter connected with zinc evaporator, which is positioned within chamber of zinc vapor oxidation unit in axial alignment with it. Zinc evaporator is made in the form of annular plates arranged in parallel one with respect to the other in horizontal plane. Plates are provided with outlet radial openings extending along their generatrices and overflow openings made in bottom. Oxidation unit has air supply devices positioned in side walls of chamber and gas and air supply device positioned centrally of upper end wall of chamber. EFFECT: reduced consumption of raw material and fuel per unit of product and provision for reduced loss of zinc through combustion gases.
