Separating elements for subdividing a space into smaller spaces, in particular in refrigerating systems, substantially consist of plates (1) that can be fitted together at right angles to each other. The plates (1) have one or several passages (3) that allow a gaseous exchange between the smaller spaces. The essential advantage of the elements is that ice formation on the plates (1) is avoided because of the improved ventilation of the smaller spaces. Another advantage is that no clips are required for fitting the plates together. The use of these elements is not limited to refrigerating systems but can be extended into a temperature range of up to +40 DEG C.
