The disclosure pertains to an electrical connector with at least one contact element (1), an electrically insulating insulation section (2) which completely or partially surrounds the contact element(s) (1), and a shielding section (3) which completely or partially surrounds the insulating section (2) and contact element(s) (1) and acts as a shield against electromagnetic radiation. The electrical connector disclosed is characterised in that the shielding section (3) is produced by an injection-moulding process and is either simultaneously or subsequently treated in conjunction with the insulating section (2) in such a way as to prevent the two sections from separating.
