The clamping jaws (16) of the tool have swivel sections which are interconnected. The jaws can pivot around the swivel sections in the plane clamped by the jaws between a clamping and a released position using a central drive unit. The drive has a shaft (12) orientated perpendicular to the plane clamped by the jaws and to which the jaws are eccentrically connected. The clamping jaws, the connection of their swivel sections and pivot-connection of the clamping jaws are arranged symmetrically to the axis of the drive shaft.
