<p>A module having optoelectronic devices mounted on a substrate, such as a subscriber's transmission module, which is produced highly accurately and economically at a high yield. Optoelectronic devices such as a semiconductor laser are mounted precisely in place on a substrate having an optical waveguide, in such a manner that the device and the substrate are bonded with fine particles such as spheres having a desired diameter interposed between them. This structure makes it possible to set one of the optical devices formed on the substrate and another optical device to be mounted so that the height of their optical axes attains the high efficiency optical transmission. The height has been determined in the prior art by the tickness of a solder or an adhesive, and it cannot be optimized, resulting in inadequate accuracy and yield. The present invention solves all these problems, and can accomplish a precise and economical module having the optoelectronic devices which can be used in a optical system.</p> |
