PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF WEAR-PROTECTED AND CORROSION-PROTECTED SURFACES ON PLASTICIZING SCREWS FOR INJECTION MOLDING MACHINES

A process is disclosed for manufacturing wear- and corrosion-protected surfaces on plastifier screws for injection moulding machines. Wear-resistant layers are produced over the entire screw surface in two process steps. A laser technique is used to melt in additives into the upper side (3) of the screw ribs (2) and the rib flanks (4) and screw base (5) are coated by highspeed flame spraying with metallic, hard-metallic and/or ceramic substances.
