FIELD: welding engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves rectifying line voltage, converting rectified voltage into-high-frequency voltage of inverter whose frequency is higher than that of line voltage, stepping down high-frequency inverter voltage by means of transformer to value required to obtain welding current. Method is characterized in that while rectifying line voltage the latter is simultaneously multiplied N times, where N is higher than or equal to 1.5. This makes it possible to use less expensive transistors carrying lower working currents at maximum permissible voltage between emitter and collector ((U)) and line voltage (U) N time lower. Power supply implementating this method has smaller size, weight, and cost. EFFECT: reduced cost and improved design of power supply. |
