Safety brake for cable lift

The brake has a device to brake and stop the conveyor when a set speed is exceeded, with a speed-dependent delay. The brake is a centrifugal force brake, and has a device to intensify the braking force dependent on the conveying speed. The kinetic energy of the conveyor is used to provide the energy for intensifying the braking force. The braking elements (3,4) are fitted directly to the driving disc of the conveyor, and run round a fixed brake drum (1). The brake is equally effective for either conveying direction.
