A mechanical press compresses fruit, vegetables or other organic matter to separate the juices from dry matter for further use. The fruit rests on a first conveyor belt which meanders between a series of parallel opposing rollers mounted on a frame. The belt also functions as a sieve, and juices drain through for subsequent collection. Towards the end of their passage through the press, the first belt and fruit pass through a final set (7,8,9) of rollers. A second filter belt (33) also runs between the fruit and at least one of the final set (7,8,9) of press rollers. |
