The towbar (4) consists of a U-section beam (6) with a coupling (7) at each end to fix it to the vehicle body (1) and to the opening hatch (3). Each coupling incorporates a fixing member (21,22) for attaching it to the beam. Each coupling has a U-shaped end section (11b) which fits onto a support with a matching outer surface on the vehicle body. Each coupling also has a moving pin to engage with an aperture in the support, passing through receiving channels (24). Each fixing member comprises two flexible blocks, each with a screw (22) which is fixed to the door and pressing against a shock absorber between two shells. The inner shell has a truncated conical outer surface with its large base against the door, while the outer shell has an inner truncated conical surface with its small base against the head of the screw.
