The electrolyte of a fuel cell consists of zirconium oxide stabilized in its cubic form with one or more oxides of samanium, gadolinium, dysprosium, bolmium, erbium, thirlium or lutecium, up to a maximum of 20%. Up to 10% (mol.) of alumina may be added to reduce the melting-point of the mixture to assist in fabrication. |
