<p>A description is given of a novel process for composting organic waste, in particular domestic rubbish. The rotting matter is decomposed under specified physical conditions by microbes. To this end, the rotting matter (14) is placed onto a flexible mat (12). The mat (12) is rolled up together with the applied matter. Thermal energy is introduced into the rotting matter via the mat (12). The amounts of heat are adjusted in the rotting matter (14) to a specified, constant value, optionally by removing heat from the rotting matter (14) via the mat (12). When the process is complete the mat (12) is unwound and the composted matter is removed. <IMAGE></p> |
