PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photosensitive composition useful for various light modulations, indications, colorings and recordings, improved in color develop ment at a high temperature without spoiling durability against repetition of color developing and color distinguishing and light fastness by containing a specific photochromic compound and an organic zinc salt. SOLUTION: This photosensitive composition comprises (A) a compound of the formula [X is atomic groups necessary for forming a (substituted) naphthalene ring or a (substituted) phenanthrene ring; Y is atomic groups necessary for forming a (substituted) aromatic hydrocarbon ring or a (substituted) unsaturated heterocyclic ring; R<1> to R<3> are each a (substituted) alkyl, R<1> together with R<2> can form a ring] and (B) an organic zinc compund such as zinc 3,5-di-αmethylbenzylsalicylate, etc., and the component A is preferably emulsified and dispersed in a hydrophilic polymer.
