PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in assembly process of an optical pickup and to enhance its reliability by controlling the thickness of a bonding material for sticking members to each other after curing to be within an optimum range. SOLUTION: Such an optical pickup possesses a light source 1 and a light guide member 5 having plural inclined surfaces inclined to the incident direction of light projected from the light source 1. Also, the optical pickup is equipped with a photodetector element 13 having plural photodetector parts for receiving light and transducing a light signal of the received light into an electric signal. These members are bonded to each other by a bonding machine, and this bonded thickness (t) after curing is 1<=t<=300μm or preferably 1<=tη3μm or more preferably 3<=t<=7μm.
