PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mount antenna which radiates the ratio waves in the prescribed direction when mounted in a circuit board. SOLUTION: A through-hole 2 having the length ofλ/4 or less is formed covering a face 1a through its counter face 1b of a dielectric or magnetic substrate 1 with offset secured toward one of both sides from the center of the substrate. Then a feeding electrode 2a is formed in the through-hole 2, and a feeding terminal 3 and the ground terminals 4a and 4b are formed on the face 1a. Furthermore, a radiation electrode 5 is formed on the face 1b. The terminal 3 is connected to the electrode 5 via the electrode 2a, and a face 1c which is adjacent to the face 1a is used as a mounting surface of an antenna.
