<p>PURPOSE: To surely lock a cover of a storage container by providing a main lock mechanism and a follower lock mechanism to a lock member incorporated to the container so as to doubly lock the cover in order to effect synergism. CONSTITUTION: An opening and closing cover 3 for covering the upper surface of a relatively elongated stationary horizontal storage part 2 is pivotally attached at its one side to one side of the storage part 2. A locking member 14 is provided at the other side of the storage part 2, and a key member 5 adapted to be engaged with the locking member 4 is provided at the other side of the cover 4 so as to constitute a storage body 1. The locking member 4 is composed of a main locking mechanism 6 and a follower locking mechanism 7, and the key member 5 has a first protrusion 12 adapted to be engaged with the main locking mechanism 6 and a second protrusion 13 adapted to be engaged with the follower locking mechanism 7. Thus, the cover 3 can be doubly locked. That is, it is surely locked by synergism between both mechanisms 6, 7. Even though an automobile is driven without locking the cover 3, the cover 3 be prevented from opening due to intense vibration.</p> |
