PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical air cell with good discharge characteristics and high overdischarge electrolyte leakage resistance by preventing the generation of cracks in an air electrode of the cylindrical air battery. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for an air electrode of a cylindrical air cell is provided. When an air electrode mix 6, a current collector 5, and a water repellent film 7 are integrally formed simultaneously or continuously in a sheet, sheet formation in uniting the water repellent film 7 or the sheet formation before the water repellent film 7 is united is performed so as to become arc cylindrical. When the air electrode formed is assembled in the cylindrical air battery, cracks are not generated, good discharge characteristics and high overdischarge electrolyte leakage resistance are provided. The formation of the arc cylinder is conducted by pressing with a rolling roller having the diameter ten times or less larger than the diameter obtained when the air electrode is finally assembled in the cell, preferably the diameter five times or less larger than it. |
