PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a roll rotation control method for the rolling equipment capable of surely preventing slip between the rolled steel sheet and the roll. SOLUTION: Based on a diameter D of a roll 10 stored beforehand, a traveling speed Vu of the face 1a of other side of a rolled steel sheet 1, which is not abutted on a roll surface 10a detected by speed detecting means 14, 14a is calculated, and based on a sheet thickness (t) of the rolled steel sheet 1 detected by a sheet thickness detecting means 16, a traveling speed VL of the face 1b of one side of the rolled steel sheet 1, which is abutted on a roll surface 10a, is calculated. Based on the calculated traveling speed VL of the face of one side, rotation control of the roll 10 is executed with a drive motor 12. By this method, the traveling speed of the face 1b of one side of the rolled steel sheet 1 and the peripheral speed of the roll 10 are made to coincide. |
